Al Oliveira

Head Coach

Girls Varsity Ice Hockey

Coach Oliveira joined the St Thomas Aquinas coaching staff as the Girl's Ice Hockey Head Coach for the 2013 - 2014 season. He brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the team.  He was the co-founder of the Seacoast Women's Hockey Association (Seacoast Lightning) which was the first organization created for the growth and development of girls hockey for all ages in 1995. It is currently the oldest girls-only program in the state. After 22 years of being the head coach of the U19 team, he has decided to focus on the STA-WHS team, as well as his family; Two of his grandchildren have started learning to play hockey this season! He has been selected 4 times to be the Head Coach for the New Hampshire Senior High School Girls All-Star Team to represent New Hampshire in the Make - A - Wish Foundation Event which takes place at the University of Vermont every June.

Coach Oliveira has a long history of volunteering in community youth sports when he lived in Stratham for over 25 years with his wife Paula. Coach Oliveira also was an ASA Umpire for over 25 years and was selected to represent the United States in the Special Olympic World Games plus multiple ASA National Championships.   All three of Coach Oliveira's children, Katie, Abbie and Anthony attended St Thomas Aquinas High School.
