After a tough loss to a very good Portsmouth team, the Saints bounced back with a much needed win. Captains Jack Dillow and Miguel Diaz got the Saints on the board early. Diaz won at #1 singles 8-0 while Dillow won at #3 singles 8-0. The other two Captains Jack Benelli and Hayden Blaisdell stepped in and made quick work of their opponents as well. Benelli picked up an 8-2 win at #5 singles while Blaisdell earned an 8-2 win at #6 singles. The four captains quickly put the Saints in great position with a 4-0 lead. The #2 and #4 singles matches provided a little more drama.
Sophomore Owen Himmer picked up his first victory of the season in the #2 spot. Down 4-3 against a tough opponent, Himmer battled back to earn an 8-4 victory. Sophomore Jake McGuire once again provided the most entertaining match of the day. McGuire got off to a slow start surrendering the first 3 games. While he was able to pick up his play he remained down 5-4 heading into a vital point in the match. McGuire stayed composed and was able to come from behind to pick up the 8-6 victory for the Saints.
After sweeping singles the Saints continued to dominate when the doubles matches began. McGuire and Baxter Kimball earned an 8-4 win at #3 doubles which was Kimball's first varsity start and win. Dillow and Benelli (JackSquared) remained undefeated on the year picking up the 8-2 victory in the #2 spot.
