St. Thomas Boys improve to 7-2 with impressive 8-1 win over Coe Brown.

STA (7-2) beat Coe Brown (3-5) for the 2nd time this season.  The Saints jumped out to an early start taking the first 4 singles matches.  Senior Miguel Diaz had one of his most dominating wins of the season picking up the 8-0 win in the #1 spot.  Diaz played the same opponent who he only beat 8-6 earlier in the season.  Junior Jack Dillow picked up an impressive 8-3 win at #3 singles while sophomore Jake McGuire cruised to a 8-1 victory in the #4 spot. 

Sophomore Owen Himmer provided the most entertaining singles match of the day.  In what was a back and forth match full of lead changes, Himmer stepped up in the clutch to come away with a 9-7 win in the #2 position.  The 9-7 win was Himmer's best win of the season.  After falling at #5 singles, STA picked up the decisive 5th point and team win when senior Hayden Blaisdell stepped in and easily won 8-0 at #6 singles.

Up 5-1, STA didn't need anymore points but that didn't stop them from sweeping doubles.  McGuire and junior Baxter Kimball kept their undefeated record in tact as they cruised to an 8-0 vicotry in the #3 spot.  Dillow and junior Jack Benelli won 8-3 in the #2 position.  The best doubles match came at #1.  Diaz and senior Ryan Lancaster fell down 3-0 before rallying to earn a very impressive 8-5 win.  Lancaster had paired with Diaz twice before against tough opponents which both resulted in losses.  Diaz showed great leadership helping Lancaster pick up his first career varsity tennis win.

STA looks to build upon their win streak as they host Goffstown next week which will kick off 4 matches in 4 days.
