After a scoreless first have, Chelsea Cooper knocked home the eventual game winner five minutes into the second half to move the Saints to 1-0-1 on the early season.  Senior midfielder Adrienne Bevins beat three defenders breaking through on the Cougar goalkeeper only to have her chance stopped.  She kept the play alive with a nifty pass to Morgan Atwell who blasted a shot off the crossbar, where Cooper was there to bounce in the rebound.  The Saints created several more chances, but were kept out of the net by a talented Derryfield backline and keeper.  Notching the shutout was Sophomore Ava Perfilio, 5 saves, and the defensive group of Anna Gasper, Emma Corson, Abby Tosatti, Kylie Youngclaus, Kelly Sullivan, and Lauren Baudo.

The Saints play this Thursday in their home opener at 4:00 pm against Hillsboro-Deering.
