Coaches

Sean Murphy.


Head Coach

Biography:

Coach Murphy is entering his 14th season of coaching in the STA boys basketball program; 4th season as the Varsity Head Coach. He attended Kearsarge Regional High School, playing 4 years of basketball, 3 at the varsity level. Following high school, Coach Murphy attended the University of New Hampshire, majoring in both Recreation Management and Policy, and Kinesiology. He graduated in 2007. While a student at UNH, Coach Murphy began his coaching career at St. Thomas Aquinas as the boys freshmen basketball coach. Over the years, he was promoted to the JV coach, assistant varsity coach, and now enters his third season as the varsity coach.

Ryan Ebeling.


Assistant Coach

Biography:

Coach Ebeling is entering his 3rd season as an assistant for Coach Murphy and the Saints. He has experience playing sports at the high school varsity, AAU, and division III collegiate levels. A native of Massachusetts, Coach Ebeling was involved in his local YMCA as a coach and camp counselor. A graduate of Framingham State University with a Bachelors Degree in Finance, he currently works in the seacoast area's community banking industry and has been doing so for the past 10 years.

Assistant Coach

Biography:

Coach Proulx has been with the boys STA basketball program since 2013. He started with the freshmen program while also helping to implement the strength and agility off-season program. He previously coached for over 10 years in both local AAU programs and in the Somersworth youth program.

In addition to basketball he also has coached football for the past 14 seasons including two years with the Saints from 2014-2016. He is a former Marine as well as an alumni of Southern New Hampshire University. He is an NFHS Certified Coach as well as USA Football Concussion Certified.
