Biography:
Coach Sheehan enters his 2nd season as the Head Coach with high expectations after the team's Cinderella run to The Finals last year. Sheehan has over 20 years of experience behind the bench. He is a proud alum of Central Catholic High School (Lawrence, MA) and played college hockey for Worcester State University.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts in History, Coach Sheehan attended the New Hampshire Police Academy where he received honors for graduating 1st in his class. He served as a law enforcement professional for 23 years, including 8 years as the Chief of Police for Kensington, NH.
Coach Sheehan and Coach Drouin continue to lead Team Police & Team Fire, respectively, in the Battle of the Badges Hockey Championship that benefits the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD). Last year’s fundraising saw the event eclipse over two million dollars total, during the eleven years of the game. An impressive ten members of the St. Thomas Aquinas hockey community have coached or played in the Battle of the Badges; including, Christopher Plummer, Matt Harnish, Glen Camire and Tom Breslin to name a few.
Biography:
Coach Strabone has been coaching with the St. Thomas Ice Hockey program since 2016. After a championship season in 2018-2019, where he was an Assistant Varsity Coach, Strabone stepped in as the head coach for the start of the 2019 season and lead the team back to another championship. He has been involved with the NH East Hockey program for the last 13 years; serving as both assistant coach and head coach, winning numerous NH state championships. For the past 4 fall seasons, he has been the head coach for the NH East U-18 midget majors. He is also USA Hockey Level 4, SafeSport certified.
Coach Strabone has a long history of community service; volunteering in youth sports and supporting school education programs in the Hampton Falls community were he lives with his wife, Maryellen. Strabone graduated from Bishop Fenwich High School in Peabody, MA and moved on to play hockey at the college level for Fitchburg State College. Both of Coach Strabone's sons attended St. Thomas Aquinas, Matthew '11 and Michael '15. Both have moved onto Boston College!
