McKenzie McGrath.

Head Coach

Biography:
Coach McGrath is entering her first year as the Saints Varsity Softball Coach. McKenzie is from Exeter, NH and attended Exeter High School, graduating in 2015. While at EHS, she was a three-sport varsity athlete, playing softball, ice hockey and golf. For softball, she was a four-year starter at shortstop and was a captain for the Hawks her Senior year, when she was named to the Division 1 NH High School Softball All-State First Team. The summer after graduating high school, her travel softball team won the 18U NH States Softball Tournament and clinched a birth in the ASA National Championship in South Carolina.

From there, she continued on with her career and played college softball at Suffolk University in Boston, where she graduated from in 2019 with a BSBA in Sports Marketing. At Suffolk, she was a four-year starter, playing third base for the Rams and again, took on the role as captain during her Senior year.  McKenzie helped her team to the program’s best 33-9 record her Freshman year.  She also helped lead her team to back-to-back GNAC Conference Championship appearances in 2017 and 2018. In her last season at Suffolk, her Senior class became the fastest class ever to reach 100 wins and ended as the second most winningest class in the program's history. As a Freshman, she broke the single-season fielding record for assists and by the end of her Senior year, she broke the all-time career fielding record for assists. She played in nearly every single game, starting in 165 out of 167 in her four-year career. In addition to playing softball in college, she was on the Suffolk University Women’s Golf team. McKenzie lead her team to back-to-back NEIGA Championship titles in 2017 and 2018 when she was a captain, and earned a spot on the All-NEIGA First-Team both years.

In the fall of 2016, McKenzie began her coaching career with the Seacoast United Softball Program, where she has been coaching the 18U travel team. During her time there, the program has seen a lot of recent success with their players committing to play softball in college. She is very excited for her first season at St. Thomas!
